Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has broken his silence ahead of the release of the Building Bridges Initiative.
In an exclusive interview with Standard on Tuesday, Mutua affirmed that Kenya is ready for BBI.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement leader said that the current state of affairs in the country shows that change is inevitable. He asked leaders and the general public to take time so that they can read the BBI report before making a conclusion.
He further said that Kenyans should brace for better times if the report is adopted reiterating that he supports President Uhuru Kenyatta's stand on the initiative.
"As the president said, only a fool would say that Kenya is perfect and doesn't need revamping. We are at the foundation stage of laying down a system that we can believe in. Do we need the BBI? Let us look at it," he said.
Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga are set to receive the report on Tuesday. The two leaders will make the report public on Wednesday. Uhuru and Raila have asked Kenyans to read the report before they make their stand clear.
