Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has finally succumbed to pressure piled on him by traders over uncollected garbage behind Market Plaza Building within Kisii town in Kisii County.
After traders raised concern and threatened to stop paying taxes to Ongwae's government, Ongwae moved with speed and sent county workers to collect garbage.

On Tuesday evening, Kisii county garbage collectors were spotted removing garbage, loading it into a lorry.
Traders said the ODM allied governor should work around the clock and not waiting locals to complain about his rogue leadership.
"I am happy now that after we protested about the uncollected garbage, Ongwae has acted swiftly. Let him not wait for us to complain. We elected him to serve us and not serve his own interests," said a fruit vendor Nyaboke.

The business people expressed confidence that customers who have kept off buying will finally return.
"I am sure clients who have not been buying from us due to the foul smell from the uncollected garbage will come and buy our products. Ongwae is luck we could have stopped paying taxes to his government," said Nicholas Omwoyo.
