Former Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale ended his first wife's cultural mourning on Saturday.
The vocal politician said that the last ritual was a bullfight in honour of Mama Adelaide Shikanga where his bull won.
"This morning we brought the cultural mourning of Mama Adelaide to a closure with our bull Malinya winning two matches in her honour," Khalwale tweeted.
The former Ikolomani Member of Parliament was also visited by his in-laws from Sabatia Constituency. The elders paid him a post burial visit in respect of the Luhya culture.
Khalwale also revisited crucial events that transpired as he mourned his first wife.
The staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto was forced to take a break from politics after Adelaide's demise.
"While I was away mourning my wife1. @TonyGachoka was arrested 4 being drunk & disorderly2. @IdaOdinga sued her dota inlaw3. Punguza mzigo initiative flopped4. Eliud Kipchoge set a new world record5. @MigunaMiguna made stellar clarifications on @RailaOdingaPolitical dynamism," he wrote in another tweet.
Khalwale's first wife collapsed and died at their Malinya home in Ikolomani sub-county early this month following a long battle with cancer.
She was first diagnosed with cancer in 2003.
