On Saturday June 10 2006, the government ordered for the deportation of two controversial Armenian Artur brothers after they caused drama at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The duo , Margaryan and Sargsyan, was arrested after they triggered an attack on a Customs officer at the facility. The police were compelled to raid the home of the two brothers in the Runda Upmarket.
The police discovered a cache of guns and ammunition when they raided the home of the two Armenian brothers.
The detectives also came across balaclava helmets as well as several T-shirts when they raided the home of the two.
The t-shirts had been branded QRU (Quick Response Unit). The police ordered the two not to return into the country it emerged that their mission is a threat to national security.
In an official statement released to the media houses, the government said that the two were no longer allowed to set their feet in Kenya.
"The Government has declared their continued presence in the country undesirable and ordered their immediate deportation."
The police also kicked out Mr Alexander Tashchi and Mr Arman Damidri after the drama.
The then police spokesman Gideon Kibunjah stated that they were kicked out after they breached a series of airport rules.
