A section of Jubilee party members has blamed Opposition leader Raila Odinga for the disunity that has emerged in the ruling party.
According to the leaders, the rain started beating the Jubilee party after the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria during a rally in Nyandarua County claimed that there was unity in the party before the handshake deal.
Kuria added that he hoped the two leaders will retire after 2022.
“We were working well until Raila came and today we have disunity in the party. I hope they will retire with the president in 2022,” Kuria stated.
Further reports indicate that Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro also believes Raila was out to tarnish the performance report card of the Jubilee Government.
“We had a united party under the able leadership of President Kenyatta before busybodies hijacked our party,” Nyoro noted.
There has been an apparent division in the Jubilee party with a section of the members sidelining with President Uhuru Kenyatta and others supporting Deputy President William Ruto.
Some of the renown members of the Jubilee party seem to have switched sides to become allies of Raila Odinga.
One good example is Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru who supported Raila's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) during the Kibra by-election.
Gatundu MP Moses Kuria has claimed that Waiguru is in the process of forming an alliance with Raila Odinga and Interior CS Fred Matiang'i ahead of the 2022 general elections.
