Squatters living in lower Solai area in Nakuru have pleaded with the government to ensure they are not removed from the land they are living on.
They denoted that they have received threats of eviction even after detailing a plan to move out to the land allocated to them in Gilgil.
"We have been living as squatters in Lower Solai for 40 years. This week we have been living in fear after threats from an organised group of youths threatening to evict us," Charles Chebet who is the squatters' chairman was quoted by Standard.
Families that acquired Solai Rubei Farm illegally, saw 3,000 title deeds nullified by Justice Sila Munyao. Some of the squatters were living in Ol Jorai while another population resided in Solai.
They denoted that the court was not fair in its ruling as they had fought for the possession of the land for almost four years and now it's being taken away so easily.
Peter Kiloo a resident said that the youths left his farm completely destroyed by driving animals in.
"It has been a challenging journey and we hope the ruling will not land us into bloodshed. We call on security agencies to tame them the gang," said Chebet who is also a resident.
