Edwin Abonyo, the widower to former Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso has revealed that he is yet to recover from her death.
Laboso succumbed to cancer in July, two years after taking over the leadership of the county from her predecessor Isaac Ruto, and was buried at Abonyo's home in Muhoroni.
However, Abonyo says that three years later, he is still living in hell and sometimes cries in his bedroom when the memories flood back, especially her suffering with the ailment.
"I have cried a lot in private. Whenever I step in our house, our room, in particular, the emotions come fresh. I remember everything and the memories kill me," he told The Star.
The father of four says that he is still struggling to come to terms with the loss, and though he appears strong, he is still suffering.
He says the same is also the case among other members of his family, especially their children.
Joyce succumbed to cancer after a long battle with the decease, and received treatment both in the United Kingdom, India and Kenya, before giving her last bow at the Nairobi Hospital.
She and her husband have four children, Ted, Mina, Marco and Brian. Her death was as a result of relapse, after first being diagnosed with cancer in the early 90s, before recovering.
