Majority leader Aden Duale has not been reading on the same script with ODM chief Raila Odinga for long.
He is among the confidants of the jubilee government whose job was to respond to attacks from Raila’s camp in the 2017 election campaigns.
He was quoted several times terming Raila as a leader without any positive agenda for Kenyans. But the tune has evidently gone low.
Duale has notably reduced anti-Raila politics because he wants to maintain president Uhuru Kenyatta’s trust in him.
Besides, he also wants to remain loyal to his ally DP Dr Wiliam Ruto.
He is under pressure to please both president Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto.
However, it is evident now that the volume of Duale’s public attacks to Raila has relatively gone down especially after the historical March 9th handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila.
It is because the majority of Raila’s confidants also muted their attacks on DP Ruto’s camp.
Hence it could be a little bit out of context for Duale to keep accusing Raila.
In addition, being the majority leader of the national assembly, he had to stay in the handshake context so as to maintain loyalty to the speaker of the national assembly and the president.
Majority of the jubilee lawmakers had agreed to stay loyal to the handshake and work together with Raila’s camp so as to foster peace and national development.
