There was drama on Thursday Emonge, Getare in Kiamokama, Kisii County after a witch-doctor threatened his client over Sh50,000 debt.
Locals said Andrew Ng'are hired the witch-doctor Martin Ooga to help them find Sh20,000 which got lost from the house.
It is alleged that Mr. Ooga arrived at the homestead and did his witchcraft as usual before the lost money was found where the thieves who are yet to be known had hidden the money.
"The witch-doctor came and did his witchcraft activities at the homestead. The money which went missing from Ng'are's house was found hidden on the rood of the toilet," said Margaret Gesare a neighbour.
Gesare said the witch-doctor later demanded Sh50,000 because the lost money was found.
"The family could not raise the Sh50,000 Ooga was demanding prompting him to threaten to curse the family," she noted.
According to the witch-doctor, they negotiated that he will be paid Sh50,000 once the money which got lost is found.
"We made an agreement that I should be paid Sh50,000 if I could help them find the money. I must be paid as we agreed on failure to which a calamity will befall the family," he maintained.
Area chief Edward Nyaanga said he has already warned the witch-doctor against bewitching the family.
"It is abnormal for Ooga to demand Sh50,000 yet the money he helped the family to recover is Sh20,000. If anything happens to Ngare's family the witch-doctor will be held accountable," he said.
On his part, Mr. Ngare accused the witch-doctor of changing tune at the last minute saying he will not pay the huge money.
