The debate about fair distribution of jobs escalated on Thursday as detailed emerged on the composition of John Nyagarama's cabinet.
Not stranger to controversy though, Nyagarama is said to have recruited four relatives to the cabinet of nine and an additional one person who is directly related to his deputy Amos Nyaribo.
A senior government official protested: "The county is full of relatives. Professionals are unable to work for being bullied around."
"I can assure you that even over 60 per cent of cabinet comprises of his relatives. Something must be done."
Investigations done reveals that of the nine ministers, four are directly related to the ODM governor while one is a close relative of DG Amos Nyaribo.
Education and Youths minister Gladys Momanyi is a niece to the governor while Agriculture boss Peris Mong'are is a daughter to one of governor's in-laws.
Powerful Roads and Public Works boss John Omanwa is a nephew to the governor. The duo used to work at KTDA before joining county government.
And the newly appointed Trade and Tourism boss Pauline Oyugi, who also worked at KTDA is a sister-in-law to the governor while Water boss is a relative to the DG Nyaribo.
Others directly related to governor working in big offices are Job Ong'ombe (Chief of Staff), Kefa Mocheche (Deputy Chief of Staff), Mr Amwoma the economic adviser and Momanyi Nyagarama, the Director monitoring and evaluation.
When the claims resurfaced in social and local media, the government went mum and nobody is yet to respond, a strategy divergent from previous way of handling such high volatile information.
Nominated MCA George Mosiori insisted that the county assembly will scrutinize the claims upon receiving official petition.
"We are waiting for the petition over the same. We shall canvas on the matter appropriately," he noted.
