Deputy President William Samoei Ruto is expected to share a podium with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The two leaders, who have been firing salvos at each other, will attend the burial of former football star Joe Kadenge. The leaders met at the beginning of the week at KICC during trade expo on Monday
The duo will be joined by Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, and (Cotu) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli, among others from different parts of the country to give the football icon a befitting sendoff.
“Deputy President William Ruto will lead the government in the burial with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi also expected to attend,” Chris Kadenge, the deceased’s nephew said, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
Kadenge, who played for the National Team, during his active years will be laid to rest at his home in Soliani, Vihiga after a service at Gisambai Primary School.
Leaders led by President Uhuru Kenyatta has eulogised the deceased a great man who changed the lives of youths.
The Jubilee government has since revealed its plans to rename a stadium in Nairobi after Kadenge. Uhuru and Raila are among the leaders who contributed towards funding the burial of the football star.
