The panel discussion, other than being attended by heads of crime-fighting agencies, was also attended by prosecutors from across the East African region.

"Panel discussion on modern approaches to fighting corruption where importance of partnerships, collaboration, networking and leveraging on ICT between member states in the region to effectively combat corruption were discussed," ODPP tweeted.

The development comes as the ODPP is prosecuting a bewildering array of criminal cases investigated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

DCI and EACC bosses; George Kinoti and Talib Abdallah Mbarak also attended the forum keen to learn a thing or two.

The success of the cases prosecuted by the ODPP depend to a significant degree on the quality of the investigations undertaken by the EACC and DCI.

Shoddy investigations complicate the work for prosecutors in building cases that can yield convictions.
