A top police officer in Kisumu has found himself in trouble over a 20, 000 shillings corruption case.
Kombewa Police Station OCS Kennedy Saina was on Tuesday nabbed by Ethics and Anti Corruption Commissioners (EACC) for allegedly demanding the bribe to withdraw a defilement case.
Confirming the incident, Ben Murei, an EACC officer from the Western region said that the arrest came after a tip-off from the suspect's brother, from whom he demanded the bribe.
Speaking to Radio Ramogi, Murei added that his officers later laid a trap which the mentioned officer unknowingly walked into, reports the Citizen Digital.
He was briefly held at the Kisumu Central Police Station but has since been released on a police cash bail.
He is facing charges of soliciting a bribe which is contrary to the Section 6, sub section 1(a) and 18 (1) such section 2 of the bribery act, as is contained in the constitution.
