Immediate Bomet County Assembly Speaker Shadrack Rotich will be sworn is on Thursday as the Deputy Governor.
This is after he resigned to pave way for his swearing-in.
The swearing-in is expected to be held at the Bomet Green stadium where members of the public have been invited to attend.
Rotich's appointment as a deputy governor by wasn't received well by a section women leaders and friends of the late Governor Joyce Laboso.
They were expecting the Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok to appoint a woman deputy governor.
“We had made big strides in women leadership in Bomet but now Governor Barchok has pushed us to back to the drawing board," Bomet county chairperson Maendeleo ya Wanawake said as quoted by Standard.
Even so, Barchok defended his appointment saying; "We are running out of time, and picking Hon Shadrack Rotich was well thought, I wanted a person who understands how things run and not someone who will need fresh orientation.".

Rotich's appointment was approved by the County Assembly last week but the swearing-in delayed because he had not resigned from his previous position of the Speaker of the county assembly, as stipulated by the constitution.
The swearing-in will be presided over by Kericho High Court Judge George Dulu.
Deputy President William Ruto is expected to attend.
