Kisumu Day High School under-19 football team has been dumped out of the national Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) term two games, being held in Kisumu.
Kisumu Day were tossed out of the games by Nairobi representatives Dagoreti High School after losing 2-0 in the second match of group B played at the Moi stadium in Kisumu on Wednesday morning.
The games kicked off on Tuesday, with Kisumu Day going down 0-1 against Vihiga’s Ebwali High School.
The Nyanza region representatives now remain with the last group B match against Eastern’s Mbooni High School before officially exiting the stage.
Ebwali and Mbooni drew 1-1 in another match which means Dagoreti lead group B with 6 points, Ebwali has 4 points, Mbooni has 1 while Kisumu Day has none.
Kisumu Day was beaten by Barding of Siaya County during the Nyanza regional finals, and only got a chance to be in the nationals after staging a successful appeal.
On Tuesday, Dagoreti beat Mbooni 2-0. In group A, St. Antony’s beat Shimba Hills 1-0, Olbolsat beat Banisa Mixed 6-1, while in the girls category Nyakach beat Karugwa 8-1, Dagoreti mixed lost 0-1 against Itigo, Arch Bishop Njema drew 0-0 with Njambini while Gesero drew 2-2 with St. Johns.
