It goes without saying that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i is President Uhuru Kenyatta's most trusted minister.
The Head of State demonstrated this early this year when he appointed him as the chairman of the National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee.
Political analysts termed the appointment as a major promotion, some saying he was now the unofficial Prime Minister.
Just lask week, Uhuru demonstrated that Matiang'i was his 'Super CS' when sent him to Mozambique to represent him and witness the historic signing of a peace accord between President Filipe Nyusi and Renamo, the main opposition group.
According to political analyst Kwendo Opanga, the Interior boss has the President's ear and trust due to his impressive performance since his appointment to the Cabinet about seven years ago.
He has been chosen over other ministers, the analyst argued, since the Head of State was eager to deliver on his Big Four Agenda, and it's only Matiang'i who has proved to be equal to the task.
"He is Mr Kenyatta's enforcer because as an action-oriented and results-driven man, he is crucial to the progress of his legacy-driven and therefore time-limited development of housing, healthcare, manufacturing and infrastructure," he said.
In his column published by Nation, Opanga said Uhuru has also brought Matiang'i close to power to neutralise his 'not well-meaning' deputy, William Ruto.
"And because Dr Matiang'i is loyal, he shields the President's Big Four from political interference and especially from Mr Ruto, whom the President feared would embroil it in endless politicking," the analyst added.
