South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro on Saturday shocked Nyamira residents when he branded Deputy President Dr William Ruto as a 'better thief' than his critics.
Speaking at Gekano Parish, the MP demanded that those opposed to DP Ruto's church donations should also explain source of money they contribute in funerals.
He said this after Deputy President William Ruto donated Sh1.5 million cash to Tente SDA Church in Nyamira and an undisclosed sum to Gekano Parish.
"If you have never stolen public monies, where do you get the monies you use to traverse the country? You only go to funerals and never to harambees in churches...and if it’s about theft of funds, then better this one who steals something small and he brings it to us here. (Eborie iga, aye onye tikwanya koiba, ng'ai okorusia chibesa ogotarera Kenya yaito igaa? Naende ninki ogotarera amatanga oka? Tori gocha ase emechango yekanisa buna eye, ogochia amatanga oka...na gochia bono onye noboibi obwo, gochia oria okorusia nke twareterwa igaa naintwe twanyora egento giaito igaiga)," Osoro said in Ekegusii as reported by Standard.
Mr Osoro was part of a four-member delegation of local Members of Parliament who accompanied Dr Ruto on his tour of Nyamira County.
Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi was also present. Other MPs present were Kitutu Masaba's Shadrack Mose, North Mugirango's Joash Nyamoko and West Mugirango's Vincent Kemosi.
