Chama Cha Mashinani and former Bomet County Governor Isaac Ruto has hitherto been languishing in the political cold after losing to the late Joyce Laboso of Jubilee Party in 2017 general elections.
Ruto's future political prospects remain unclear if he will seek to defend his seat in the upcoming general elections or not.
If Ruto wishes to rekindle his once-vibrant political career, he has to initiate various changes prior to the next elections.
First, Isaac has to dance to William Ruto song in making inroads in the vast Rift Valley region and the country at large and initiate projects. By being in good terms with William, he may be endorsed during the general election. An endorsement from the region's kingpin is as good as the win in the region.
On the other hand, Isaac should be at the forefront to criticize happenings in both the county and national government to remain relevant. By doing this he will create a picture of a better leader in the minds of the electorate.
Isaac should form vibrant grassroots teams to champion for his agenda. He can launch projects in grassroots areas to help locals this move will make him appealing and popular. Making inroads in the county and engaging the locals one by one will increase his chances as well.
