In an interview with NTV, the lawmaker said that she decided to use the side door to the chamber to avoid any form of confrontation with the security.

She said that a security guard was always on the watch even as she planned to find her way into the building.

“I decided to use a side door...I saw the security and made a dash with the baby. I got in and sat near the front so that security would have to follow the rules,” she narrated.

She also revealed that she had to ask her husband for permission before bringing the kid to Parliament on that fateful day, adding that she also informed her sister about her plans.

“I had to call my husband to ask for permission. I also called my sister because I knew people would talk about it and it would probably be on TV. I didn't know it would go viral and get this much local and international attention,” he added.

The county MP was however ejected from Parliament following the incident.

The move was aimed at protesting against Parliament's failure to provide rooms for lactating mothers to breastfeed their children.
