Four ministers on Friday backed Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to do better in his current assignments, arguing that he's a unifying factor in cabinet.
Dr Matiang'i was elevated to chair powerful National Development and Communication Cabinet Committee early this year by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Initially, there were reports that the move created divisions in cabinet, a claim Dr Matiang'i has often dismissed as 'idle talk' by development saboteurs.
Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution), Keriako Tobiko (Environment), George Magoha (Education) and Joe Mucheru of ICT, argued that they will support Matiang'i at all times.
"He has demonstrated ability to lead and he has even shown that I cabinet. We shall work closely with him because he trusts team work. He's a great man," said Keriko.
"There is no division in cabinet. Matiang'i is a prefect and whenever he asks us to do something, we act swiftly over the same. He is a leader with a vision," added Mucheru.
On his part, Wamalwa said there are some people who have waged a war against Matiang'i, but promised to stand with him at all times.
With Kisii and Nyamira leaders piling pressure on him to run for president, Dr Matiang'i has only limited his conversation to development.
There are reports that he's keen to join national politics, with a swift target at Deputy Prime Minister post on the offing in the expected constitutional changes.
