The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has gone ahead to expose Deputy President William Ruto, a day after he made interesting revelations about the party leader Raila Odinga.
ODM on Wednesday laid bare the DP's alleged secret attempts to betray President Uhuru Kenyatta, shortly after the Jubilee Party reelection in 2017.
In a statement on Wednesday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna revealed how Ruto allegedly attempted to woo Raila Odinga to help him 'deal' with the President.
Sifuna claimed that Ruto reached out to Raila severally, trying to plead with him in to join him in fighting their common enemy, President Uhuru in this context.
“He attempted to sell the narrative of 'finishing our common enemy' to Hon Raila Odinga, who declined the offer. Now he wants to blackmail both Rt Hon Odinga and the President at the same time!” he was quoted by the Citizen Digital.
He termed this proof that the latter is opposed to the Uhuru-Raila handshake that would follow weeks later, since he had demonstrated being against the President from the onset.
Sifuna urged the DP to stop dragging Rails into his troubles in Jubilee and instead take his issue to the President.
“This is why he is the greatest enemy of the Handshake and desperately wants to see it fail. We once again advise him to raise his objections with his boss and stop his obsession with our Party Leader," further reads the statement.
But in an exclusive interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday night, Ruto whose alies have been bashing the handshake insisted that he supports it.
