Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was on the news recently for blocking matatus entry into the Central Business District (CBD).
This caused an uproar among matatu operators, Nairobians and even politicians.
One of them was Nairobi County Senator Johnson Sakaja. Sakaja who was accompanied by 21 matatu Saccos filed a case on Monday accusing Sonko and City Hall of implementing rules without consultation from the public and stakeholders.
“I've gone to court because the actions of the county government are disadvantaging many Kenyans..... before you ban matatus provide an alternative. What happens to children? What happens to the elderly? You have not dealt with security, it is not lit. You have not even created walkways for people, so it is completely unfair and it must be lifted today,” said Mr Sakaja.
Mike Sonko during the graduation of the #KCB2Jiajiri class of 2018 at Kasarani Gymnasium in Nairobi argued Sakaja to join hands with him and President Uhuru for the good of Nairobi.

“Na ndugu yangu Sakaja, ata mimi nilipeleka Kidero kortini sana. But unajua Sonko si Kidero. Wewe acha story mingi njoo tushikane na rais tufanye kazi,” he said.
