Under the leadership of Orange party boss Raila Odinga, the group has been pushing for changes on the executive arm of government and the governance system.

Speaking on Wednesday, the Raila ally said that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) referendum is indeed on its way and might be held before the end of next year.

Speaking on Radio Citizen's Jungu Kuu on Wednesday night, the youthful legislator added that the nation should prepare for the same between August and October of 2020.

"Referendum Mungu akipenda tutafanya mwaka ujao tukielekea mwisho. Itakuja mwezi wa nane, tisa ama kumi hapo," he told Kamau Munyua.

This translates to; "God willing we will go into the referendum towards the end of next year at around September, October or November."

The proposed changes also seem to enjoy the backing of President Uhuru Kenyatta who has repeatedly stressed in the need for abolition of the current winner takes it all system.

On the other hand, they have been questioned by allies of Deputy President William Ruto who observe it as a new plot to accommodate opposition losers in government and Raila's pet project to land in government once again.
