ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale now says that Deputy President William Ruto is in for it after his latest attacks on the party boss Raila Odinga.
The DP on Monday fired shots at the former Prime Minister, referring to him as an enemy of progress who thrives on poverty, branding him the "Lord of Poverty".
In a rejoinder on Tuesday, Etale said that the party will not take the remarks lightly, but Raila will not respond.
However, he said that the party has compiled a team of lawmakers who will take him head-on over the remarks in the coming days.
Etale said that Makadara MP George Aladwa and Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino will respond to the DP.
"Ever heard of 'kupigia mbuzi gitaa' (playing a guitar for a goat)? That's exactly what it will be. Let him make noise, shout his voice hoarse, but Raila Amollo Odinga will not respond to him," said Etale.
He added: "He has the people to do that, in fact, after the press statement by SG Edwin Sifuna, we shall have Hon George Aladwa Omwera and Babu Owino responding to him directly. Raila will never respond to crap."
Despite reconciling during last year's National Prayer Breakfast at Nairobi's Safari Park, Raila and Ruto seem to have reverted to their initial hostility.
Raila's intentions remain unknown, considering he is yet to declare interest in any seat in the 2022 polls, as compared to the DP whose interest in the presidency is already known.
