Speaking at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Saturday, the trade unionist claimed that the DP will not be president of Kenya.

He, therefore, cautioned a section of Western Kenya lawmakers backing the DP, saying that they will end up in the political cold with him.

"I prophesied in 2017 that William Ruto will not be president in Kenya. As Luhyas why are you following him around yet an elder has warned you?" Atwoli posed in a video shared on Facebook by NTV.

He claimed that the DP has managed to turn the group against some area leaders, among them ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.

The trade unionist suggested that as a result, some have even been disrespecting Mudavadi, and even calling him names when alone with the DP.

"Some of those young men were even calling him names, referring to him as the termite man," he added.

He made the remarks in the presence of Mudavadi, and a section of Western Kenya Ruto allies who attended the function.

Atwoli spoke at a function organized to consult about the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), where the area leaders also declared their support for the push.
