The late Mama Dorcas Owino Nyong'o will be laid to rest on Friday June 14, 2019 at her home in Ratta, Seme constituency.
Mama Dorcas, the mother to Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o died on Tuesday last week, while receiving treatment at a Nairobi Hospital.
Governor Nyong’o’s Press Unit Director Alloys Ager noted that funeral arrangements are in top gear, adding that the deceased's body is expected in Kisumu on June 12.
“Her body will be brought to Kisumu from Nairobi on June 12,” he said.
The family has invited friends and relatives for prayers and a fundraising on June 5th at 5.30pm, and on June 6th at 5.00pm at the All Saint's Cathedral, Nairobi.
The Kisumu fundraising will be held on Friday, June 7th at Acacia Premier hotel as from 4.00 pm.
According to information released by the family, there will be three funeral services before the final burial service on June 14.
There will be a funeral service on Monday, June 10th at the All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi starting 12pm, on Wednesday, June 12th at St. Stephen's Cathedral, Kisumu starting 10am, and on Thursday, June 13th at St. Paul's ACK Church Ratta, Seme starting 10am, before the burial service on Friday, June 14th in Ratta, Seme.
