The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party officials were on Thursday holed up in a meeting at a Nairobi Hotel.

This was revealed by the party's Director of Communication Philip Etale in a tweet.

According to Mr Etale, the party officials were engaged in discussions on how to grow the party and ensure that party primaries are held successfully moving forward.

Officials from all 47 counties in the country were part of the meeting held at the Hadassa Hotel.

"@TheODMparty officials from all the 47 Counties currently meeting at Hadassa Hotel next to Nairobi Hotel. The officials will make a resolution on the growth of the party and successful party primaries going forward, " he tweeted.

The meeting is seen as a deliberate move to strengthen the party ahead of the 2022 general elections.

ODM Party has enjoyed a certain level of dominance in the country's political scene since it's inception.

Opposition chief Raila Odinga is the leader of the party and is deputised by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

The Orange Party has fared well in general elections but is yet to win a presidential election.

ODM enjoys great support in Nyanza and the Coast where it has received the majority of votes during general elections.
