Just few weeks to Migori senatorial by-election, ODM legislators thronged to the South Nyanza County in support of former minister Ochillo Ayacko, their de facto candidate.
Interestingly, the troops, led by Senate Minority Leader James Orengo, snubbed the debate surrounding murder charges facing area governor Okoth Obado.
Throughout their campaigns in Suna East and Suna West, Orengo and his colleagues only focused on rallying support for their candidate.
Mr. Obado's allies last week accused Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and ODODM leader Raila Odinga of allegedly orchastrating Obado's woes.
"This is political witch-hunt. Junet and Raila should spare us these unnecessary politics," they shouted outside Milimani Law Courts.
While Orengo, a confidant of Raila remained mum about Mr. Obado's woes, only Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who waded into the debate.
In his remarks at a local SDA Church, Mr. Owino sent worshipper into stitches when he asked Obado to 'go back to Jesus'.
"It is unfair to draw Raila into unnecessary murder debate. Go to court and prove your innocence. If I were him, I'd run to Jesus."
Obado was denied bail by Justice Jessie Lessit and would know his fate on October 8th, when Migori residents will be going to ballot in a case where he's accused of plotting the death of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno.
Orengo insisted that ODM will go for nothing less than a 99 per cent victory against Eddie Okech.
