Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru has weighed in on the alleged Deputy President Dr William Ruto's condemnation of some Cabinet Secretaries.
Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on KTN, the county boss urged the DP to start first by reining in his troops.
She said that politicians allied to the country's second in command needed to be told to moderate the language that they use in their discourse.
"If the deputy president is condemning any Minister for talking the way they do, I think he needs to start with his troops, " Waiguru said in part of a video shared on YouTube. (17:13-17:20)
A few days ago, allies of the DP unloaded on Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, accusing him of too much arrogance.
The attacks were touched off by the CS's strong comments in Kirinyaga in which he said that he only pledges his allegiance to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“We can’t allow technocrats who have never been elected by anyone to give us lectures," Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen fired as quoted by the Standard.
Ruto allies have accused the Interior CS of using law enforcement authorities to intimidate them so as to withdraw their support for the DP's presidential ambitions.
