In a veiled attack seemingly aimed at President Kenyatta, Murkomen claimed that there is no trust in today's political deals in the country.

" Let's avoid hypocrisy in our politics. When we love one another, let it be sincere, not that you have a knife which you want to use to injure your friend at the back. Let's show that unity," said the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, who was speaking in Makueni on Saturday.

While throwing his weight behind the Building Bridges Initiative, Murkomen slammed those claiming that they are against the initiative.

He said they (Ruto's camp) are fully behind it and that those making the claims want to create an unnecessary political rift in the country.

According to the Senator, a section of politicians have decided to paint them as anti-BBI with an intention to create two rival political camps.

Murkomen and a section of politicians allied to the Deputy President William Ruto have come under sharp criticisms from pro-President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga camp for allegedly opposing the BBI.

During the last BBI meeting in Kisii, Dr Ruto openly criticized the event saying it was a waste of taxpayers' money.
