Political analyst Edward Kisiangani has weighed in on the Wednesday meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto at Ruto's offices.
In a tweet Wednesday, the former Citizen TV resident analyst rubbished any possibility of the same having been a surprise visit by the President, claiming that Ruto saw it coming.
He said that though taking an image of an impromptu visit, the same was a well-planned meeting and could have been discussed between the two before finally being realized.
He took issue with media outlets that have also painted it a sudden incident, terming it sickening to hear the media giving out misleading communication regarding the same.
"It's sickening to hear people and media outlets claim that President Uhuru made an impromptu visit to Deputy President Ruto in the DP's office yesterday.
"This meeting was planned well in advance. There was thus no surprise and no impromptu call by the President," he observed.
The meeting came amid claims of a growing rift between the two leaders, as has been demonstrated by their allies who have been involved in a battle of words lately.
But in a tweet a tweet after the meeting, the Statehouse noted that the same had no political dimensions and was solely based on national development issues.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, Dr. William Ruto today shared a working lunch at the DP's Harambee House Annex office during which the two leaders discussed matters related to the government‘s development agenda," it wrote.
