This is after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was on Wednesday barred from accessing his office following to graft charges he is facing in relation to Sh357 million case.

In a letter to the Senate Speaker quoted by the Star, Sakaja said that the sitting, which will be presided over by Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, will give the legislators an opportunity to address how the management of the county will be undertaken following the decision of the court.

"Seeing that Nairobi does not have a Deputy Governor as is the case of Kiambu County where a similar direction has been given, serious concerns and questions have arisen as to how the county will be run in the interim period," Sakaja's letter read in part.

Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti ordered Sonko not to access office after granting him Sh15 million cash bail or Sh30 million bond.

Ogoti also said that the county boss will only be escorted to the county officers to pick any necessary documents if there is a need.

The court also directed other county officials accused alongside the governor to stay away from the office on the grounds that they could interfere with the evidence in the case.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji had opposed the release of the governor on bail, saying he was likely to interfere with evidence.
