Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday put the Standard Newspaper on spot over claims that Jubilee is divided. Taking to Twitter, Ruto maintained that the leaders of the ruling party are still speaking in the same language.
This is after the local daily published an article titled "DP upsets Jubilee Party arithmetic as allies increase," which alluded that all is not well in the party. The writer opined that the factions in Jubilee have resolved to pull in different directions even after President Uhuru Kenyatta warned the leaders to remain united.
"Kenyans should ignore this divisive propaganda. Jubilee under the able leadership of President Kenyatta is strong, focused and united," he tweeted.
Ruto has also made an about-turn on the implementation of the Building Bridges Initiative after it was made public. The second in command wants the report implemented faster to pave way for other issues.
Speaking during a fundraiser at Ndagani Catholic Church in Tharaka-Nithi County on Saturday, Ruto noted the issues around the BBI report is a complete waste of time that can be used to complete projects started by President Uhuru Kenyatta as he seeks to complete his term on a high note.
“We should finish up with this BBI thing to avoid wasting crucial time that we could be concentrating on developing this country,” said Dr Ruto.
