Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando Wa Kabando on Wednesday said President Uhuru Kenyatta is being frustrated by persons placed well within his Jubilee party.
The ex-lawmaker claimed the group has marooned the Head of State, and is using its powers in the two legislative assemblies to sabotage him.
He claimed those frustrating the president are; Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and his National Assembly counterpart Aden Duale, whom he noted have even been openly opposing him.
Kabando opined that the two, who are close allies of Deputy President William Ruto, have been openly disobeying the president, making him appear less of the president Kenyans expect.
"He needs to free himself. He's marooned, the disobedience around the presidency, the sabotage of the workings of parliament by the Majority Leader in the National Assembly and also in the Senate," he said during an interview on KTN's Pointblank show.
Kabando questioned Murkomen's opposition to Uhuru's move to cancel the construction of the controversial Kimwarer dam, an issue that saw Murkomen claim the president was misled.
According to Kabando, such actions, in addition to his (Murkomen) negative remarks about the government's attempts to clear the Mau Forest of settlers, is a bad show.
Regarding Duale, he claimed the Garissa Town MP has even been abstaining sittings meant to discuss motions important to the president.
"When you have his own motions being opposed in National Assembly by the majority leader, sometimes the jubilee leader in national assembly abstaining. His actions in the Mau, his actions in the dam scandals being scorned at by the majority leader in the senate means that there is a big crisis," he added.
Kabando urged the president to take charge.
