While speaking in Kilifi on Saturday when he met a group of Members of Parliament from the region, the Governor, however, asked the duo to implement the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission report which he believes will fully address the perennial land problems that have dogged the Coast region.

“The main problem we face at the Coast is the land ownership and the never-ending squatter problem. While campaigning in the opposition, our main aim was to make sure that the TJRC report is implemented,” said Kingi as quoted by Sunday Nation.

According to the Governor, the Uhuru-Raila March handshake provides the perfect opportunity for the problem to be fully addressed.

“Now that Uhuru and Raila have come together, this is the first bridge which needs to be built. We all know the historical land injustices which have been well elaborated in the report to be implemented,” he added.
