The world’s best teacher Peter Tabichi has recounted his youthful years when life was not easy.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with The Star on Sunday, Tabichi said that he used to walk barefoot to school. 

He recalled how life was tough after the death of his mother at the age of 11. Tabichi said that his dad solely fought hard to raise him into who he is today.

The scholar said that he is dedicated to helping needy children across the country to make their dreams come true. 

The award-winning teacher added that his life has not been a bed of roses but he has worked extremely hard to make ends meet noting that his love for reading has contributed to his success in various ways. 

The teacher also said that he used to read magazines that his father brought to their home when he was young, which inspired him so much.

 “I would pick some church magazines my father brought home whenever he walked out and read them and with time my interest grew," he said.

Tabichi has been going places since he bagged the award. He has had the privilege of meeting US President Donald Trump among other leaders.
