Safarilink management on Tuesday night issued a statement through its Twitter handle after one of its planes veered off the runway after a tyre burst.

The management confirmed the incident saying Cessna Caravan C208, was involved in the incident when it was landing at the airport from Lamu.

"Safarilink Aviation confirms that our aircraft a Cessna Caravan C208 registration 5Y-SLJ had a tyre burst on Landing Wilson Airport at 18:20 inbound from Lamu with 10 passengers and 2 crew onboard. We can confirm that there were no injuries and that the aircraft was procedurally removed from the runway," part of the statement read.

The management further stated that The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has taken up the case.

"The KCAA team has investigated the aircraft and confirmed the tyre burst. We wish to thank you for your continued patronage," the statement added.

The incident elicited a lot of reactions from social media with some blaming the management. 

The Tuesday evening incident at Wilson Airport comes shortly after a Silverstone plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Eldoret Airport when one of its tyres fell off mid-air.
