The 49-year-old teacher who mysteriously disappeared after traveling to Nairobi to take part in marking the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination was found on Tuesday evening at Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi.
Collins Odhiambo, a relative of the teacher, received a tip that the teacher who had been reported missing was seen in CCTV footage. Acting on the tip, Mr. Odhiambo and his relatives intensified the search and consequently located Moses Odumbe who had been missing since November 9.
Reports from Citizen TV indicate that the teacher from Kogana Primary School in Rachuonyo underwent a medical examination at Nairobi West Hospital.
The story of the disappearance of the teacher shortly after he appeared at the KCPE examination marking center St. Georges Girls Secondary school in Nairobi, attracted the attention of many after family members raised concern over his whereabouts.
But with news of him being found has rejuvenated the family's hopes.
On November 25, his wife Joyce Odumbe called upon various stakeholders to help in searching for her husband.
“My husband left home for an exercise organized by KNEC. I call on the council to liaise with the other government agencies to help me find him,” Mrs. Odumbe was quoted by Standard.
The teacher had allegedly participated in the marking of examination for approximately 20 years.
"My husband has gone there for almost 20 years. And this thing has never happened. This is the first time. I am scared," Mrs. Odumbe told Citizen TV.
