Barely few days after supporters allied to Kisii Governor James Ongwae accused activist Samuel Okemwa of blackmailing county leadership, the flamboyant activist has hit back.
On several social media forums in both Kisii and Nyamira Counties, pro-Ongwae team painted Mr. Okemwa as a 'conman hiding in fake revolution to sabotage service delivery'.
In a three-hour video on his Facebook from Toronto, Okemwa accused Ongwae of incompetence, adding that his days in office are numbered.
He said: "You've started a war that you cannot manage. You're a thief m a satisfied thief whose days in office are numbered."
"Instead of responding to my issues soberly, you're using social media mercenaries to abuse my intellectual capacity," roared Okemwa.
Throughout his stay in the US and Canada, Okemwa has stood out as a committed social activist and has at times put Kisii and Nyamira Counties leadership on spot.
And in 2017 polls, Mr. Okemwa was incharge of Raila Odinga's diaspora campaigns only not bow out after the historic handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
While Ongwae has rarely been summoned by either EACC or Senate over mismanagement of resources, a section of officials especially from lands department have been regular guests of the state.
A crackdown recently saw at least four officials arrested over dubious land deals in the county government.
