Waiguru has said that the court process has not distracted her performance and assured the people that she will continue to serve them.

"The court process has not affected our performance but it has been a distraction nonetheless; it was an unnecessary distraction," she said.

Karua had faulted the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for declaring  Waiguru the winner of the exercise, which she claimed was marred by all sorts of illegalities and irregularities.

The declared Court said that the case lacks merit and thereby it was dismissed

"The petition appeal dated 25th January this year is hereby dismissed. Cost of proceedings from the High Court to  Court of appeal by this court shall be borne by each party. And this is the decision of the Chief Justice David Maraga, M. K Ibrahim, A.C Wanjala, Njoki Ndungu and myself dated today, read part of the ruling as delivered on Tuesday at the Supreme Court.

Earlier on, Karua alluded that  Waiguru knew about the outcome of the case. She said that the fact that Waiguru never attended the court proceeding she knew the results.

“For a respondent who never came to court during the hearing, but comes to court for judgment complete with a battery of media in tow and a celebration party, leaves one wondering whether she was aware of the outcome,” said Karua, as quoted by Citizen Digital.

Waiguru’s win means she will remain at the helm of power until 2022.
