Tanzanian President, John Magufuli impressed his audience with his unexpected understanding of Sauti Sol's viral Extravaganza song.
Speaking on Monday afternoon during the launch of two flight radar at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Tanzania, Dr Magufuli used Sauti Sol's Extravaganza song to drive key points home.
He said developing Tanzania was unstoppable for him, just like Sauti Sol's Extravaganza which passes on a similar message of not giving in or giving up.
"Sometimes I do remember one song from the Sauti Sol, they say if they are closed out, one opens out for them, they are unstoppable when they want to do something. In music when media draws distinction lines they are within the bracket. They say when you go to the South you find them to the North, you lock them out you find them inside. We (Tanzania) are like them."
(Na saa zingine huwa nakumbuka wimbo wa Sauti Sol, anasema wao wakifunika wengine wanfungua (he sings party of the lyrics) hawazuiliwi kufanya kitu. Wakienda kwenye muziki vyombo vikifungwa wao wanakuwa wako ndani...anasema wakifungwa wao wanafungua, wakienda kusini wao wako ka kaskazini, wakiwafungia kuingia ndani wao wanawakuta wamo ndani, sasa ni vivyo hivyo)," said Magufuli.
Extravaganza was written and performed by Sauti Sol's, Bensoul, Nviiri the storyteller, Crystal Asige and Kaskazini. The song came with key life lessons for young and old, including keeping a distance from someone's wife.
