Residents of Molo Town, Nakuru County are in shock after a man allegedly hacked his wife to death, using a machete on Sunday evening.
Molo sub county Police Commander Isaac Odumbe confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect fled from the scene after attacking his wife, Lucy Waithira Wanjiku.
Speaking to Nation, Odumbe said the suspect was alone with his wife at her salon in Molo Town, before attacking her with a machete.
“The suspect used a sharp panga to slash his wife in the neck before fleeing. It was a very swift attack that lasted less than 10 minutes,” said Odumbe as quoted by Nation.
The police boss said a manhunt has been launched to trace the suspect.
Odumbe further noted that the police are yet to establish the motive of the killing.
“We have launched investigations to establish why the suspect, who is at large, killed his wife. We are following crucial leads on the suspect's movements,” added Odumbe.
The body has been moved to Molo Sub County Hospital mortuary.
