An angry man beat his daughter on Saturday after she allegedly sneaked from her room to attend a disco 'matanga'.
The incident happened in Bonyakoni village, Kisii County.
Collins Omwenga said his daughter Abigael who is yet to join college sneaked to a disco 'matanga' in the village despite him warning her not to get out of the house at night.
"She sneaked out through the window to attend a disco matanga in the village yet I had warned her not to attend. Upon checking her in her house on Saturday 2 am she was not there," he said.
Omwenga said he had to wait for her outside until she returned at 5 am.
"She couldn't know that I was outside waiting for her. She entered the house and immediately I stormed the house where I beat her thoroughly before her mother intervened," he noted.
According to Omwenga, she can't allow his daughter who performed well in last year's KCSE exams to turn herself to be prostitute attending discos.
David Nyaoga, area assistant chief urged parents to keep a close watch on their children so that they don't attend discos.
"Parents should be on high alert to ensure their children are growing morally upright," he said.
Nyaoga however, warned parents against beating children saying they may end up causing bodily harm.
