Jowie who is the main suspect in the murder of Nairobi business lady Monica Kimani dropped the application, in a move Weda notes is the best if he indeed wants to be released on bail.

Speaking on KBC English Service’s ‘The Big Conversation’ on Wednesday, Weda revealed that Jowie’s defence team would have to use courtroom tactics to secure his release.

He, therefore, termed it very unhealthy to attack the judge handling the same case, actually noting that he is better off in the hands of the male judge than in the two remaining female criminal judges.

‘’Here we are talking about a woman who was murdered. Starting a fight with a male judge and seeking to have the case moved to another will only get him into more problems,’’ he said.

‘’There are only three judges in the criminal division and the other are women. If he is arraigned before a female judge and is being accused of killing a woman, then he will have it harder surviving,’’ said Weda.

Jowie was arrested in September, with Justice Wakiaga who took over from Justice Jessie Lesiit refusing his grant application on October 30.

He is being held at the Kamiti Maximum Prison.
