Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has suggested that a relative of deceased Kibra MP Ken Okoth take up the mantle in leading the constituency.
Speaking exclusively to K24 on Wednesday, the outspoken legislator said a relative of Ken Okoth should be considered by ODM in its nomination.
"Probably one of the family members should be considered because Ken died a painful death and he died a performer, "Owino said.
The name of Imran Okoth, the brother of the Kibra MP, has been floated especially on social media.
ODM has not come out publicly on who it will give the nomination ticket to contest in the parliamentary by-election.
Okoth died two weeks ago after a long battle with cancer and a run with treatment in Paris, France.
He was cremated under controversial circumstances that saw a public tussle between family members on what should happen to his body.
There are those who vouched for him to be buried while others opted for cremation in accordance with his wish.
Kibra has long been an ODM turf.
Political pundits contend that any aspirant who will get the ticket from the party will carry the day.
