In an exclusive interview with Standard, Uhuru said that his government is committed to ensuring public resources are protected.

He noted that the war against the vice has impacted on the lives of millions of Kenyans since he took over office.

President Kenyatta argued that hundreds of companies have benefited from his fight against corruption.

The Head of State cited the case of the removal of illicit goods and management of ports of entry, adding that he insisted that the companies have continued to invest more in different sectors because they know his government is ready to support them.

"If you look at what has happened at the ports of entry and the removal of illicit goods that have been coming in and result in a lot of local manufacturing either shutting down or downsizing, the report we are getting is that local manufacturers have seen their sales double," he said as quoted by Standard.

He also said that his government is ready to protect local industries in order to make them more competitive in different sectors of the economy as long as he remains in power.
