He is now demanding the national government to remit a share of millions it has been collecting from the tourists in the parks.

The county boss, on Monday, filed a petition at the High Court seeking to know why the national government has been collecting everything yet the parks are within his area of administration.

He questioned why they have been receiving nothing from the parks yet his government is the custodian of the same.

The new move has now reignited the dispute between the national and county governments over the way affairs of national parks are run.

Counties have been pushing to receive part of the revenue from the parks because they lie within their boundaries.

Samboja told that court that the two parks are located within their land mass and they have occupied massive pieces leaving the residents with very little to depend on yet they are benefitting from them.

Through lawyer James Kounah, Samboja has now out the national government to task to explain the reason why the revenue is never shared between them

“Kenya Wildlife Service which has managed and collected revenue from the parks over the years has denied the county government its share,” reads part of Samboja’s statement, as quoted by Standard.
