The bill, which sought to among others, slash electoral representation, has since been disqualified after being rejected by majority of the county assemblies.

Wamwere, a former Subukia lawmaker, now says that the two, who are pushing the separate Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), must have facilitated its rejection to realize theirs.

Similarly, the former Assistant Cabinet Minister now says that the duo will use its influence to push BBI through, despite the opposition being witnessed from some politicians.

"Aukot (Ekuru) has been fought and unless Kenyans oppose the BBI using all if their might, the BBI will succeed (Aukot amepigwa vita na BBI itashinda. Labda wakenya waipinge kwa nguvu zao zote)," he said.

He made the remarks on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche on Saturday night, which come as an echo to the bill sponsor Ekuru Aukot, who alleged that the ward representatives were manipulated and bribed to reject the bill.

Wamwere personally expressed his opposition to the BBI movement, terming it a plot merely intended to house election losers.

Koigi, who joined dissolved his Chama Cha Mwananchi into Uhuru's Jubilee before the 2017 polls also faulted Uhuru for giving in to demands of people unwilling to accept election defeats.

"This inclusion argument is a way of accommodating poll losers who wont accept defeat (Hii inclusion ni njia ya kuingiza ndani watu ambao wameshindwa na hawatakubali wameshindwa)," he added.

Both Raila and Uhuru and their allies have branded the BBI a solution to exclusion, as Uhuru awaits to be presented with the report from the BBI taskforce.

However, allies of both politicians have hinted that the team will propose major constitutional changes, possibly including the introduction of a Prime Ministerial position.
