Barack Obama has been keen on maintaining a low profile lately.
His public appearances these days are few and far between unless it is important.
This week he made a public appearance because it was important that he dishes out some nuggets of wisdom to the young people, the millenials on social media.
In an Obama Foundation forum, the former president of the United States of America advised youngsters against being judgemental on social media in the name of being woke.
President Obama said that he had noticed that the young had developed a habit of calling out each other.
"I get a sense among certain young people on social media that the way of making change is to be as judgemental as possible about other people, " President Obama said. "If I tweet or hashtag about how you didn't do something right or used the wrong verb, then I can sit back and feel pretty good about myself because 'Man did you see how woke I was? I called you out!'" He added.
Mr Obama appeared to campaign for compassion in the social media discourse, saying that all of us have flaws.
“The world is messy; there are ambiguities,” he said. “People who do really good stuff have flaws. People who you are fighting may love their kids, and share certain things with you, " he continued.
