The two were reportedly involved in a verbal exchange that almost took a violent turn, after the ousted Cabinet Secretary allegedly badmouthed opposition boss Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Monday morning, Atandi confirmed that he never fought Echesa who is also a former boxer, but admitted that they were involved in an argument.

"Mimi sikupigana na Echesa kule Kisumu airport, ilikuwa mvutano tu (It was just an altercation but we never fought)," he said.

However, the MP is not new to such claims, and has been implicated in several cases of violence, one being that he allegedly stormed the Siaya county education offices and slapped an officer.

This reportedly happened earlier in the year after he was failed to see the boss. The MP was reportedly accompanied by a group of youths.

He is also being investigated over claims that his supporters burnt vehicles belonging to his rival Martin Otieno alias Mijeshi after an altercation in the same county earlier in the year.
